Pink, blue & green colored wood ?

Whats with all the weird colored wood 2x4's I see at the home center ? Does it mean its treated for termites ?

This is wood treated with a blend of anti mold & borate chemicals. The borate protects against termite damage, decay & fungal damage. To this is added a blend of colored dye to color the wood. All these come with a warranty – I recommend a thorough reading to make sure it covers what you need.

Also, there are new engineered trim & siding products that resist fungal decay, mold & termites. These products can be in the form of “cement” wood type siding like Hardi Board or Cemplank. They can also be engineered wood products made from wood fiber, resin & other polymers along with zinc borate.

We use many of these products in our modular homes.
